潮水湾南岸耸峙着圆形廊柱厅，
圆厅的中央是杰弗逊的青铜雕像。
他右手握着独立宣言的文本；
站立着，严肃的目光正射向前方。
绕厅内穹庐形屋顶四周的铭文
标明他反对一切形式的暴虐；
铭文如大桂冠高悬在他的头顶，
或一圈灵光，使得他无限圣洁。
清风穿越过圆柱从四面吹进来，
他手中的文告仿佛要随风飞扬；
圆柱外四面挂斑斓萧索的云彩；
他的额上漫移着日影和星光。
我看见这一切映入澄澈的潮水湾，
成美丽空灵的影子，在水中倒悬……

On the shouthern shore of the bight does the column hall stand
In the middle does the bronze statue of Jefferson rise
The Declaration of Independence in his right hand
He stands upright; the grave light shoots right ahead from his eyes
The inscriptions all around the dome inside the hall declare
That he's directly opposed to all kinds of tyranny
Over his head, the inscriptions as big as crowns hang thereOr like a ring of halo make him boundlessly holyThe crisp wind through the columns blows here from every wayIt seems the documents in his hand with the wind flutter
Around all the collumns hang clouds lonely with pallid rayAnd on his foreheadsunshade as well as starlight linger
I see all these mirrored in the clearness of the Tide Bight
As a chic shadow in the water upside down, left right
